Gulf Oil Spill

After a quarter of a Trillion dollars in Taxpayer dollars in 37 years, and currently with almost 18,000 employees, there appears to be no contingency plan for the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. What has the Environmental Protection Agency been doing for the last 37 years? It certainly does not appear that it has put into place any kind of strategy for the protection of our nation’s shores from the kind of disaster that we have recently been witnessing.

This is just one more example of the unbelievable waste our oversized Federal Government has perpetrated on the American taxpayer. It is time for a common sense approach to the environment. The fault lies heavily with BP but does not completely lie with BP. Had the EPA been doing its job to identify disaster threats, monitor, and enforce regulations to protect the environment this would not have happened. It appears that the barn door is going to get shut now that the horse is out but they will still need to clean the stalls before they fill the barn again. Hopefully with work horses not show horses.
